In case you missed it on Instagram yesterday, the Dogist community has raised over $212,000 for our LA wildfire relief fundraiser with GoFundMe! Everyone’s heartfelt contributions and willingness to aide those in need is a reminder of the amazing power of this community and the internet to do good.
The funds raised are being distributed equally to the following well-deserving organizations: The Labelle Foundation, Best Friends LA, Wags & Walks, Pasadena Humane, San Gabriel Valley Humane Society, Angel City Pit Bulls, Wings of Rescue, Philozoia, National Disaster Search Dog Foundation, First Responder Therapy Dogs, Pups Without Borders, & Love Leo Rescue
In January, I was able to visit LA and highlight some of the work the local rescues were doing to help people and their pets. In selecting the beneficiaries of our fund, I was reminded of my visit to the Search Dog Foundation (or NDSDF) I had the opportunity to visit and feature back in 2018. The work they do continues to be an inspiration for me personally, and for all working dogs, especially in the aftermath of natural disasters. Here are some of the incredible dogs I met from that trip!
